Ride 4 Rob
This event is in memoriam of my son
Rob Schwind who was killed by a young woman too
interested in running her errand - buying sunglasses at almost 10 PM.
She just turned left and left him no opportunity to avoid the
accident. Our mission is to work with
the schools, youth organizations, media events, billboards, etc. to promote
motorcycle safety awareness and the dangers of distracted driving. Rob was the 14th rider down because of a
vehicle that summer -- he died on the 4th
of June 2007. Please help to support this
effort in loving memory of Telefonica Rob.

Please let us know if you even
think you will be attending the event so that we can adequately plan the

Sixth Annual Ride for the ARC
Two starting points, 100 miles of
highway, one destination...the Sixth Annual Ride for the ARC... July 18th 2009,” says Ken Ernenwein,
President of Red Knights Motorcycle Club, NY Chapter
XIX.
The Madison Cortland ARC and Red
Knights Motorcycle Club, NY Chapter XIX are again hosting the Sixth Annual
Ride for the ARC, a motorcycle run that benefits the Building Futures
Foundation for Madison Cortland ARC.
This years
ride is truly a crazy bowtie. There will be two routes of the ride to choose
from; one starting at Stupid Choppers on Route 11 in Homer and traveling
through Cortland County and the Finger Lakes Region; and
another that will start at Denny’s Restaurant in Glenwood Plaza, Oneida, travel through Madison County and scenic Cherry Valley region.
The two routes will end at
Centro’s Hotel on Route 13 in DeRuyter for
lunch, entertainment and raffles.
Same-day Registration for the
all-wheel Ride for the ARC begins at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $20 per rider
and $15 per passenger. If you pre-register by July 10, you can get a $5
discount off your registration fee.
All vehicles will take off shortly
after 10 a.m. The Ride for the ARC is a rain or shine event.
“What makes the event fun is while
it’s billed as a motorcycle run, it’s really an ‘all
wheel’ ride. That means anything legal with wheels. It can be bicycles,
cars, vans, horse & buggy, and of course motorcycles!” said
Christine Sears, Director of Development and Public Relations at Madison
Cortland ARC.
The Red Knights Chapter is also
looking for sponsors and donations of merchandise or gift certificates to be
used as prizes following the ride. All donations received will be
acknowledged. For more information on donations, or to pre-register for the
ride, call 315-363-3389 ext. 225, or email: Rideforthearc@aol.com
