Legislative Update: May 29, 2007

I was back at the LOB today after 3 weeks away with 7 Assembly appointments scheduled and the first one at 9 AM was a no-show, door
locked and no one in the office.  I waited as long as I could, but had to leave for my 9:30.  The other 6 appointments took place, but all were with staff as many legislators didn't arrive in Albany until late, due to the holiday.

There has been no activity on any of our bills.  I spoke to Senator Robach's office to urge them to try and get S1705 moving through Transportation.  Neither Transportation Committee met today.  I got some good feedback on the Freedom Rally, but was very disappointed that there was nothing in the Legislative Gazette. Usually there is at least a picture with a caption, but they stiffed us this year.  We did get some press coverage in the City of Albany, with articles in the Schenectady Gazette and Troy Record and an Interview on Channel 10 News.

Today I also got a copy of the new wheelie bill A7864 and the gang bill S5594, but haven't had a chance to look them over yet.  Having been away from home for 2 weeks, I've got a pile of mail, bills to pay and a load of domestic chores to catch up on.  Thursday, I plan to be back in the LOB delivering copies of our position
papers to those legislators who weren't visited on the 21st.  There are an awful lot left over and there were no extras, so I guess we missed quite a few.
